Matt Wanderer

Co-Founder & Managing Director Executive Board

Evergift was originally founded and continues to be led by California native, Matt Wanderer. Now, as the Chariman of the Board, Wanderer continues to oversee long-term strategic planning initiatives within the EverGift group of companies. A visionary leader driven to realize opportunity, Wanderer has continually pushed the envelope to implement innovation within the social enterprise community.

Wanderer currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of EpicMD, a national leader in the mobile health technology industry. Prior to joining EpicMD, Wanderer worked internationally leading corporate sales and marketing efforts in several countries with the inter-bank trading software group Datatec S.A. He later became Managing Director at New York based Newmark Knight Frank and co-founded Alterra Capital Group, a private real estate investment firm owning and managing over 3800 commercial rental units valued at $140M throughout the U.S. In 2011, he was named CEO of RestoreHealth which before its private sale in 2015, grew to become the 8th fastest growing private company in the United States according to the INC 500.  

Wanderer is a proud Oregon Duck having earned his bachelors degree from the University of Oregon. He later earned his M.B.A. jointly from NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and HEC Paris. 

Jonathan Wunderlich

Executive Development Advisor

Originally from Rochester, NY, Jon graduated from Ithaca College with degrees in Writing and English Literature. For the last thirteen years, he has held various titles and certifications as a teacher, trainer, professor, and business consultant.

Before moving to the Dominican Republic, he lived overseas for eight years in countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, and Germany, contributing to a global perspective on many different cultural issues. Jon received training and solid experience as a teacher at the USES University in Buenos Aires and then became a business consultant working in intercultural communications and giving seminars on business negotiations, language and presentations.

His consultant work included contracts with Roche, Nestle, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telecom, Siemens, and Zurich AG. Since 2004, Jonathan Wunderlich has served as Director of Development for The DREAM Project. He has guided The DREAM Project in its growth into an internationally recognized nonprofit. Jon is an asset in any organization and EverGift is overjoyed to welcome him to the team. As EverGift Executive Development Advisor, Jon will work closely with EverGift to develop important partnerships and community outreach.

Michael Douroux

Co-Founder & Spokesperson Executive Board

Michael is our original Co-Founder and Chief Spokesperson for EverGift. He graduated from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and started his career in Management Consulting. Michael quickly moved into the Business Analytics and ERP enterprise software space where he has worked for SAP, Oracle, Anaplan and Workday.  He has managed teams across North America, Latin America and Europe over the past 18 years. Michael is fluent in 4 languages and is a dual citizen of the United States and Brazil.

Michael is an avid adventurer having traveled through 76 countries across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. He has met with many of the social enterprises and microfinance institutions that EverGift partners with around the world. Michael currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family and runs the Western United States for Workday who is a leading provider of Cloud-based Financial Management and Human Capital Management software.

Emily Wanderer

Strategy Advisor

Emily has worked with a number of international nonprofit organizations and she enjoys program development, storytelling and working with diverse skill sets and cultures. In 2012, Emily worked with The DREAM Project in the Dominican Republic developing arts workshops. In 2013, Emily transitioned to a role as Program Manager for EverGift working with artisan and other small business owners, including Cuídame (see article), across the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. 

Emily believes that business is an important path to self-confidence and economic independence for all. Emily now serves as the Director of Venture Development for Social Enterprise Greenhouse. Emily continues to serve as an advisor to the EverGift Board of Directors on strategic partnerships and growth.

Kevin McPherson

Chief Financial Advisor

Kevin McPherson holds extensive experience in meeting the challenges inherent in nonprofits. Having served on several philanthropic advisory boards and as CFO of foundations, Kevin has shown an unmatched dedication to philanthropy. Kevin McPherson is a CPA and earned a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

In large part he has held the position of CFO with privately-held companies in the life sciences, software and internet industries where he has led over $200M in financing rounds and managed multiple successful exits. Kevin has served as CFO at Restore Health, Forte Research Systems, Venture Investors, Authentify and Teach.com. Earlier in his career he was VP Finance at Scios, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCIO), served in numerous finance positions at Hewlett Packard and was a senior auditor at Arthur Andersen.

Lisa Wanderer

Legal & Events Consultant

Upon graduating from Brooklyn Law School, specializing in litigation, real estate, and family law, Lisa spent several years as a family court attorney for the New York District Attorney. Following this experience, Lisa worked for several years as general counsel and Human Resources Manager for a healthcare corporation in New York City. Lisa combines her passion of advocating for those who need a voice and her experience in contract law to assist EverGift in their mission to accelerate social change.

Organizing and celebrating events that bring recognition to a meaningful cause is also on Lisa’s forefront agenda. Lisa plans and creates opportunities for EverGift, which foster recognition and support from the philanthropic community worldwide; a key role in substantiating EverGift as a leading charitable organization. Lisa lives in Miami with her husband and their three young children.
